About:
Little Lilacs was created to support women and their families in the Dallas/Fort Worth area as they make their journey into parenthood. As a mother myself, I know having a child changes who you are, and I am honored to be part of this life-changing process.
My passion to become a doula began the day I found out I was pregnant. Although my husband and I were filled with excitement, we were also terrified. There was so much we didn’t know!
I began to read everything on pregnancy and birth, took extensive childbirth classes, and chose an amazing support group to help us have the birth we wanted. I had a normal, healthy pregnancy, but my labor and delivery was long and hard, which led me to having several interventions I didn’t plan on. After a few days, I was discharged while our son spent another week in the NICU. It was the support team that surrounded us during pregnancy that carried me through this journey of highs and lows. And although my birth experience did not go according to the plan I originally set, the journey gave me a profound desire to help others in their journey of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
And though birth is always a huge part of my passion and day, we are in a season that I have slowed down to get to focus on being with my family as we spend special time traveling and making memories. Little Lilacs has been blessed to have incredible doula’s to work with and get to connect you with!

About:
As a devoted doula, I had the opportunity to guide expectant parents through the intense and rewarding journey of childbirth with compassion, experience, and confidence over the last five years. My journey began during my pregnancy with my fourth child and led me to obtain my Doula certification shortly after his arrival. I firmly believe in informed choice and clear communication, and have continuously grown in my knowledge in supporting women and families in the birth and postpartum journey.
Being a doula has been a fulfilling role that has given me immense gratification. However, over time, my passion evolved; I felt compelled to make a broader impact in this field.
I realized that by empowering other doulas in their roles, I could indirectly aid more families on their childbirth journeys. By refining doula skills, enhancing their knowledge, and strengthening their empathy, I could amplify the quality of care they provide and ultimately influence many more lives.
This transformation didn't diminish my passion—instead, it allowed it to flourish on a larger scale. Now my commitment to supporting the miracle of life extends to cultivating a network of empowered, knowledgeable, and compassionate doulas within Little Lilacs, ready to provide unparalleled assistance to families in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
And when I am not directly supporting other Doulas or supporting a local birth center in a birth assistant role, I am with my family — my husband of 12 years, and the blessings God has given us in our five children (two girls & three boys)! I absolutely love playing board games, traveling with the family, and coffee!

Meet Vanessa Delgado!

About:
Long before I knew what a doula was I was operating in that role naturally with my friends. It started in 2009, a dear friend asked me to attend her birth, and that is where my passion and joy for all things birth began. I then had the opportunity to attend several more of my friend’s births, and at the 9th birth (in 2016) the midwife asked me if I wanted to become a doula, and I quickly responded “what’s that?” since I had never heard the term before!
Two weeks after the birth, I attended training through CAPPA and have loved supporting women and their families in such a sacred space ever since. It wasn’t long after that I attended postpartum training through Birth Arts International and began supporting families as a postpartum doula.
Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with singletons, twins, and triplets. I truly love not only getting to provide newborn care but getting to support families during the postpartum period! My heart and passions in life are being a doula and walking alongside families. Over the last year and a half, I had the opportunity to step aside to pursue a career in nursing, and though it brought great joy, my heart ached to be alongside families, and I am so happy to be stepping back into this role.
When I’m not with babies and supporting other families, you can find me hanging out with my kiddos. My daughter started high school, and my son started middle school this year. They are my favorite humans and are at such fun ages!
I love Jesus, my kiddos, all things birth, baby snuggles, Dr. Pepper, Red Bull, donuts, running (I am currently training for my first full marathon), listening to books on Audible, country music, communicating in gifs, memes, and emojis, and last but not least Fall is my favorite time of year!

About:
After the birth of my first child, I realized I did not get the birth that I imagined having. During my second pregnancy, I made sure to assemble the right team of people (including our own Lindsay, for my birth doula) and I was able to have the spectacular birth that I wished for. That subsequently lit a fire within me, to try to help every woman achieve exactly what they imagine for the birth of their baby. After 8 years of providing physical therapy services, I felt I was being pulled towards birth work.
While struggling to get pregnant with both of our children, I never felt more alone than I did during those times. I would love to help any woman in her fertility, pregnancy, postpartum journey, to feel more nurtured and understood during this incredible time in her life.
My background as a physical therapist assistant, really helps me see the pregnant body as the amazing  transformation that it is.
I enjoying being outside (camping, gardening, fishing) with my family.  I love cooking, reading, all things Gilmore Girls, and I drink too much coffee.

Meet Lily Hill!

I love sharing a bit about becoming a doula. It was a unique journey that led me to grow passionate about supporting women and families in their journey from pregnancy to birth and postpartum! It first started when I found out I was pregnant with my daughter. I desired a birth where I felt empowered, supported, and informed with as little medical intervention as possible. Unfortunately, my prenatal care, labor, and birth experience were everything but that. Regardless of my experience, I still found birth to be such a beautiful thing, and I hoped I would one day have the chance to do it again.
In June of 2021, I began to feel the desire to help a family grow through surrogacy. Being a surrogate is quite the journey - several months of physical and psychological evaluations, meetings with lawyers, waiting to match with the intended family, hormone injections….and then a beautiful confirmation of pregnancy. After the experience I had when welcoming my daughter, I wanted this birth experience to be completely different, which led me to hire a Little Lilacs Doula. And you may see where this is going, but going through the process of a birth that was everything I desired the first time, it was in that moment that everything shifted for me. I knew I wanted to offer women the same support and knowledge I received from my doula during my second pregnancy.
My background in accounting for a transportation logistics company is most commonly thought of as managing numbers. This thought is accurate, but working in accounting has a unique overlap with birth work. For example, in my role, I worked with data along with numbers. I was responsible for addressing where things could change and improve to propel the company forward. There are many statistics on pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. One statistic in particular that came close to my heart as I began researching to become a doula was that black women are three times more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes than white women. Though I returned to my accounting role after my maternity leave, I continuously felt God was calling me to change into birth work.
A little backstory - my maternal grandmother was a civil rights activist and was the president of her class at Spelman College in the 50s. She traveled to Paris as a Merritt Scholar. Upon her return to the US, she wrote An Appeal for Human Rights, a document that eventually led to the abolishment of Jim Crow Laws in the south. I have always known I wanted to change the world in some way that benefits POC, and I am so grateful that it starts here.
Outside of being a doula, my passions in life include quality time with my daughter and loved ones, biking, yoga, cooking, mindful movement, and reading.

Meet Katie Woolums!

About:
Shortly after our daughter was born, a woman I had met a few times at church came over to buy some diapers. When I learned how close she was to giving birth, I wanted very much to help her in any way I could, even though we weren’t close friends. I talked to my doula (Lindsay) about these desires and she agreed that my feelings were not typical for first time moms but my fascination with all things birth was pretty similar to what many doulas experience before deciding to become a doula!
Even during pregnancy and after birth I was amazed at what the human body can do. I was still so inspired by reading birth stories and I couldn’t get enough of them. I had a tough time postpartum even though we had family and friends around to help and offer advice. I relied on my doula a lot during that time.
When our daughter was about six months old, I quit my full time job to become a stay at home mom and to begin my doula training. When I’m not reading or talking about birth things, I love reading novels, going for walks even if it’s raining, playing nerdy board games, and spending time with my husband and daughter. I believe strongly in the power of prayer and dark chocolate.

About:
As a postpartum doula, my passion of serving and supporting mothers and families began after having my first son. I remember the time after giving birth and all the emotions that came into play: the intense joy, that sense of awe, and the shifting of moods with hormonal imbalances. In that time, I had strong feelings of being lost and overwhelmed. It was not until I was able to identify that I had severe postpartum depression that I had a sense of understanding what I was experiencing in my season of postpartum with my first son.
My husband and I have been blessed with two boys, ages 8 years old and 5 years old. When we welcomed our second, I was better equipped to identify and manage should I experience postpartum depression, but had a much better experience with the support of family and friends. Unfortunately, I was unaware of a postpartum doula through my season of having children, but a few years later a dear friend introduce me to the term and later leading me here today!
My desire is to assist and help new mothers navigate the postpartum season. Through my experience and training, supporting mothers in understanding the postpartum period with the unexpected and helping to create a space that allows for them to heal and bond is my greatest focus. It is truly an honor to be welcomed into such a vulnerable time, I am blessed by those I walk alongside while hoping to leave a lasting impression on those as well.
The largest reason I get to do what I do is because of my faith and God leading me into the many lives I have walked alongside so far. It is truly my heart to serve our Lord with my heart and hands. When I'm not busy enjoying my family, I love reading, traveling, and spending time with friends.

Meet Carolann Rosso!

About:
Long before starting the journey to become a doula, I begin my early career in childcare. During this time, I was always drawn to being a care provider in the infant room. Though my time there was short I took what I like to call a detour before stepping into my passion, which included 13 years as an insurance adjust along with 6 years. in the Army Reserves. And though I was always passionate in working with babies and mothers, I finally decided to follow where it felt God was leading - supporting women at the most vulnerable times of their lives- during the birth and postpartum period.
This desire and passion started in my own journey of growing my family. I have been blessed with 5 children and though they are ranging in the ages of 6-17 now, when I was expecting my first I remember this journey beginning with a frustrating experience at my very first prenatal appointment. I quickly began to research if there were better, more supportive ways to receive prenatal care and birth. In this time, I also felt the miracle of God in that he designed women to carry children and give birth, and in this very vulnerable time they should be met as they are and supported in their birth desires. It can be an overwhelming time for some women, and every woman deserves the care and support of a doula to walk beside them through it all.
When I am not with my clients, I am often doing all the things with my kids including soccer, roller derby, dance and basketball! I love to read, trail run (or just run in general), serve in my church and hang out with my husband, kids and silly black lab Coco. I also have the opportunity to volunteer my time with Embrace Grace that includes co-leading a group at my church focused on unplanned pregnancies. Lastly, I plan to grow my knowledge and support in breastfeeding education so that I can also be of support in helping women having similar struggles I faced to achieve their breastfeeding goals. It truly is such an honor and joy to be welcomed into any space to support women and families, and I hope that I get to be a part of your journey!

Meet Demi Draudt!

About:
In 2012, before the arrival of my daughter, I began my journey to become a medical assistant. During this time as I entered my externship for the program I was given the opportunity to work with an OBGYN. It was from that moment that I knew working with expecting mothers in some way was were my heart was calling me. As we know, life sometimes changes and during short periods of time I worked with a Chiropractor in their office, as well having the opportunity working in oncology. During these career deviations, my heart continued too long for working with expecting women. After a few years of working in these other fields, I was able to accept a position at an OBGYN office which has been such a blessing with interacting and education women and families during such a monumental time. Being in this role lit a fire under me and I began to research and build my knowledge even deeper into supporting mothers in pregnancy, labor and postpartum. While with clients at the office I would forge such incredible relationships that I desired to continue my support into their birth. In fact, many would ask if I would be there for this special moment, but my role pertained to helping to support the office. As the desire grew to continue support women from knowledge in the office and to bing able to also provide physical support during the labor process, I began to explore Doula Training options. Through my training, I have experience and the opportunity to support clients desiring all forms of birth including but not limited to natural, c-section, induction, in or out of hospital and much more. It is truly about meeting the family where they are and supporting them, and with that I can say I truly love every family and baby that God brings across my path. During my time off, I enjoy going to church, hanging out with my daughter who is such a great joy in my life, reading, movies and the greatest of all keeping my center focused on Jesus and prayer.

About:
As a mom of two wonderful little boys, it was through each of my labor experiences and welcoming them into my arms that drew me into supporting other mothers and families as a Birth Doula, just as my amazing birth teams did for me. My labor and birth experiences were radically different, one extremely long and the other shockingly fast—one in the hospital and the other at a birth center. One medicated, and the other unmedicated. Yet, I recall both as absolutely transformational. I am vividly aware that this would not be the case were it not for the two amazing birth teams that walked alongside me. After welcoming my second, my heart overflowed with wanting that for every woman embarking on this mind-blowing endeavor of love.
The truly intrinsic vulnerability of labor led me to birth work. Witnessing the radical effort leading to one of the most powerful moments in any mother’s life is absolutely breathtaking. As part of my amazing birth teams, I was blessed to have had two wonderful doulas, one at each of my two labors, and I couldn’t imagine walking that road without them. In addition, knowing that there is limited access to bilingual doulas fueled my passion for supporting those seeking a bilingual doula for their birth journey.
Throughout the last few years, I have had the privilege to see the transformative work of therapy as a licensed marriage and family therapist. It is truly an honor. Becoming a doula has been my way of truly stepping into that sacred space of vulnerability in a new way. It is a raw and powerful experience of holding space for magnificent women and those lucky enough to be with them as they cross into their new lives as mothers. I want everyone to feel empowered through this experience in any setting.
When I’m not in the therapy room or assisting a client in labor, I’m most likely at a farmers market, searching for a refreshing drink and some yummy fresh bread. My faith guides my life, and I genuinely believe that it has helped me be more empathetic to those around me.

Meet Donna Walker Gowans!

About:
For over the last three decades, I have had the opportunity to work in the healthcare industry. Though I have worked in Family Practices and Internal Medicine, my passion has always been women's health. I have spent the last eighteen years working in Obstetrics/Gynecology. It has allowed me to care for amazing women ranging from teens and expecting mothers to those well beyond their menopausal years. I can genuinely say I have enjoyed every minute of it. Through these years, I have spent my time in an office setting since I knew early on in my nursing career that I wanted the opportunity to care for patients and truly get to know them.
As the healthcare industry began to change, I struggled with the limited interaction and time spent with my patients. One of my greatest strengths lies in caring for others by listening, as well as having the ability to communicate with them to navigate options, make informed decisions, and help them to feel supported. With these changes, I began to explore where I could incorporate my strengths into a way of really pouring into women. During my daughter's surrogacy, I was introduced to the role of a Birth and Postpartum Doula. It was almost instantly that I realized stepping into the birth field is where I was being called to have the ability to continue my passion. And although I have worked with pregnant and postpartum women for almost twenty years, I am challenged by the opportunity to be a part of their labor and delivery as a source of support rather than a clinical role. There are as many different birth preferences as there are women who give birth, and they should all be honored. A little education and support for the patient can go a long way.
On a personal note, I enjoy reading, memorizing quotes, a few tv programs, patios in springtime, outdoor activities, women's ministry, prison ministry, but most of all, spending time with friends and family. I have two adult children, Jordan and Lilyan, and a three-year-old granddaughter Adeline who is the apple of my eye. Serving is my passion, and I look forward to not only having the opportunity to serve you but the many years of providing support to women and families through my role as a doula.

Meet Nichole Phillips!

About:
It was long before I had my first baby that I grew a passion for caring for infants and families. In 2000 I started working in the childcare industry as a nanny and nursery teacher at my church. Throughout the years, as my experience and knowledge grew, I became the friend many came to with their questions, even though I still had not had my own children. Today, with over 20+ years of experience and being the nursery supervisor at church, it is an honor to be still the one that many come to for questions and support during a time that feels like they are walking through an unknown forest.
When I got pregnant with my first child, I wanted to grow my knowledge. I started to enthusiastically research the nuances of labor and birth. This led me to give birth with a midwife at a birthing center. My subsequent three pregnancies would teach me that not everything can be planned but that everything is in God‘s plan.
Having four children in six years kept me pretty busy. Still, the desire to help educate women on how to advocate for themselves during their birth and assist in their postpartum time never left me. Now that my children are older, the youngest being 8, 10, 13, and 15, I feel God is calling me to be a Doula.
I look forward to sharing my knowledge and experience with you and many more new mothers on this special journey.
When I am not holding babies or helping families transition into their new season of parenting, I enjoy camping, hiking, and kayaking with my family. Being outdoors and relaxing in a hammock with a good book is so refreshing to me. My family also likes volunteering at the Humane Society of North Texas by bottle-feeding abandoned kittens and helping them grow until they are old enough to be adopted.

Meet Allisa Berberich!

About:
Even though I have always worked with young children and expecting mothers, I didn’t know exactly what to expect during my first birth. I was the first of my family and friends to have a baby. I took all the classes, listened to podcasts, and read all the books, so I thought we didn’t need any extra help. I ended up having a long and difficult labor. My son had a couple of complications but, thankfully, was healthy. It took me a few months to process my birth and heal from not having the birth I desired.
In between having my first and welcoming our second, I had the opportunity to be a support person to my sister through her labor and birth. Through these experiences, I knew I desired a different approach when we found out we were expecting our second, which led me to Little Lilacs! Having Katie as my doula taught me so much more about the pregnancy and birth journey, that even when my birth had to deter from my preferences, I still felt confident because of how educated I was to advocate for myself.
I couldn’t shake the feeling of the amazing experience I had, and felt God nudge me towards birth work. With the encouragement of my family and close friends, I took the plunge! My previous career was offering parent education in social work and education fields. I have seen firsthand that to nurture children, we must also nurture the mother, and what better way to nurture a mother than from the beginning of her motherhood journey?
While I will attend a birth in any birthplace, I have a special interest in hospital births to help clients just as I was. In addition, I have a special place in my heart for single mothers and adore the opportunity to support many through the local pregnancy centers in my community.
When I’m not talking about birth and motherhood, I am probably wrangling my two precious kids (and our two dogs) with my husband in Forney, TX. I love baking, hiking, reading, watching feel-good TV, and going on walks. Dessert, coffee, and flowers make me happy.

About:
Meet Brooke Argue, a passionate doula in supporting women and their families during the postpartum period.
I have always loved babies, mothers, and everything about motherhood. My whole childhood was spent playing house with my sister and taking our babies in the baby car seats everywhere we went. When I went to college and started my pathway through teaching, I became a nanny on the side and then after graduation started to nanny full time and realized my love for helping mothers and babies! I always found myself researching about how to be the best I could be for the families I worked for during their postpartum periods. It was so important to me for them to have the best support during such an important time in their life. This sparked my interest and love for becoming a doula! I love seeing mothers and babies through this time period and helping them adjust to the new life of being a mom or being a mom of multiples. I am very hopeful to one day become a mom myself, but for now spreading my knowledge and love to others is what I felt I was meant to do! During my time off, I love to travel, hike, and spend time with my dog, Rusty and my husband!

Meet Abby Rocket!

About:
Ever since I can recall, I have been captivated by the topic of birth and babies. This fascination evolved into a passion for supporting mothers during the miraculous process of childbirth. Experiencing my first child's birth deepened this desire to help women and families throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. In 2020, I became a Doula and provided encouragement and knowledge for my clients.
As a certified Doula, I am honored to share my expertise and experience with women and families in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. I am prepared to support mothers who give birth with a partner, alone, or via surrogacy. My approach focuses on encouraging each mother's choice in their birthing style and preferred setting. In addition to the physical support during labor, my role encompasses empowering and advocating for the expectant mother and her family.
My personal experiences, in conjunction with my training, enable me to offer a unique and comprehensive approach to my clients. I have given birth naturally with the help of a midwife and even served as a surrogate, bringing a long-awaited baby into the lives of eager parents. These experiences grant me an insightful, multifaceted perspective on the various needs of birthing mothers. It would be my utmost joy and honor to serve you.
At home when I'm not with a mama in labor you'll find me baking some sort of sourdough treats or breads of all kinds! It's a hobby that as a mama feels so fulfilling because I feed my family with it. You'll also find me doing some random craft or project here and there, like making beeswax wraps or maybe doing a craft for my daughters school projects.
I grew up as part of a family of 6, 2nd youngest and only girl! (Yes all 5 of my siblings are boys!) My mom had 4 out of the 5 of us at home, and one didn't even wait for the midwife to get there! My dad delivered him.
