Looking back, I realize my journey to becoming a doula truly began in 2020, during the pandemic, when I was pregnant with my son. It was a time of immense uncertainty and isolation. My family couldn’t visit or be present for my birth and postpartum period, and we had no idea what to expect or how much support we would need. On top of that, due to safety precautions, my husband wasn’t allowed to attend any of my prenatal appointments. As a first-time mom, navigating those moments alone felt both challenging and lonely.
I can’t share my journey to becoming a doula without mentioning the impact my own doula had on me. She provided the guidance, reassurance, and support I didn’t even realize I needed at the time, and that experience stayed with me long after my son was born.
When I got pregnant, I knew I wanted a hospital birth, as that felt most comfortable for me at the time. My sister-in-law suggested I consider a doula for support. When I started researching, I was amazed to learn how doulas can improve birth outcomes and provide essential support—not just for birthing parents but for their partners as well. That realization led me to hire a doula through Little Lilacs. I vividly remember meeting with her virtually and immediately feeling a deep sense of peace and excitement, knowing I had found someone to support me and my husband through such a challenging and isolating time.
For a while, hospital restrictions due to COVID-19 meant doulas weren’t allowed at births, and I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to have her with me. Fortunately, shortly before I went into labor, hospitals lifted the restrictions, and she was able to be there, offering the support I desperately needed.
I had no idea how profoundly that experience would impact me—not only in my birth but in my husband’s experience as well. He was the first to tell people how grateful he was that we had a doula. The support I received was holistic—physical, emotional, and even spiritual. My doula also guided me through medical information I had no prior knowledge of, helping me feel truly seen and heard. That experience stayed with me for years.
It wasn’t until four years later, while feeling unfulfilled in my corporate job as a digital marketer, that I had the realization: I could become a doula. I reflected on how my empathy and deep desire to help others could be invaluable in this work. I saw how this career would allow me to be fully myself—leaning into my strengths while supporting families through one of life’s most transformative experiences. In January 2025, I completed my doula training through DONA, and it only reaffirmed that this was the path I was meant to take.
Though my corporate career wasn’t my lifelong calling, I am grateful for the skills it gave me—balancing multiple responsibilities, analyzing information to make important decisions, and leading a team. These experiences have shaped me into a doula who is not only nurturing and intuitive but also organized and resourceful.
As a doula, my goal is to provide support in the way that best serves each client, empowering them to make informed decisions and advocate for themselves. With the overwhelming amount of information available, I strive to be a trusted resource, helping expectant parents find evidence-based guidance so they can approach birth with confidence and clarity.
Outside of my doula work, I love spending time with my family and creating memories with my husband, our 4-year-old son, and our two dogs. We have a passion for traveling, especially since we have family in different countries. I’m originally from Brazil and fluent in both Portuguese and English.
When I’m not supporting families, you can often find me watching my favorite shows, exploring new places, tending to my ever-growing collection of indoor plants, or cooking something delicious.
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

FUN FACT: I'm originally from Brazil and have lived in the US for almost 9 years. I'm very connected to my culture and love going back home to visit my family.
