Anna Porter

Hi! My name is Anna Porter, and I am a certified birth and postpartum doula.

Long before I knew the word "doula," caring for others was simply a natural part of my life. I'm one of eight kids, so growing up in a big family taught me that caring for others is often found in the simple, everyday ways we show up for one another. From a young age, being there for the people around me just felt natural.

That instinct eventually found its way into my work. As soon as I was old enough to have my first job, I gravitated toward childcare. Over the years, I've worked in church nurseries and daycares and spent time nannying. Each of those experiences deepened my love for working with children and families and taught me the importance of being present, dependable, and attentive to the people in my care.

During my last semester at Texas A&M University, a doula came to speak to our class about her work. I had never really heard of this kind of support before, but as she shared about what she did, something just clicked. I remember thinking, This is what I'm supposed to do.

The more I learned about birth and postpartum support, the more I realized how naturally this work fit with the way I had always shown up for people. It brought together my love for supporting families and my desire to walk alongside women during some of the biggest, most vulnerable, and most beautiful moments of their lives.

I believe every woman deserves to feel supported, heard, and cared for as she steps into motherhood. My hope is to be the person in your corner who reminds you that you are not alone. I want to offer encouragement when you need it, a listening ear when things feel heavy, and a steady presence when you're not quite sure what comes next.

More than anything, I want my support to feel like having a trusted friend by your side—someone who genuinely cares about you, believes in you, and makes sure that Mom is cared for just as intentionally as she cares for everyone else.
